UP Scholarship Portal (Uttar Pradesh Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement)
Pre-matric scholarships of roughly ₹3,500 to ₹6,000 a year and post-matric scholarships of roughly ₹12,000 to ₹22,000 a year for SC, ST, OBC, Minority and EWS students
This is the Uttar Pradesh government's own scholarship system for students of the state. School students get the pre-matric amount and college students get the larger post-matric amount, paid into the student's bank account. You apply fresh every academic year; last year's application does not carry over.
Who can apply
- Student who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Belongs to the SC, ST, OBC, Minority or EWS category
- Studying in a recognised institution in Uttar Pradesh
- Family income within the limit fixed for that category and course level
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card
- Caste or category certificate
- Income certificate
- Last passed marksheet
- Fee receipt from the institution
- Bank passbook in the student's name
How to apply
Apply each year at scholarship.up.gov.in, then submit the printed application with your documents to your school or college so they can verify it online.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Institution did not forward or verify the application, so it stayed pending
- Income or caste certificate number does not verify against the issuing department's record
- Aadhaar and bank account details do not match, so the transfer fails
- Applied after the yearly window closed
