UP Nishulk Boring Yojana (Free Borewell)
Free borewell installation, plus a pump set at a subsidised price
The state puts in a borewell on your field free of cost and gives you a pump set at a reduced price. It is meant for small and marginal farmers so that smaller holdings can also get water for irrigation.
Who can apply
- Small and marginal farmers of Uttar Pradesh
- Land in your own name
- No usable boring already on that piece of land
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card
- Land papers (khatauni)
- Bank passbook
- Caste certificate, where relevant
How to apply
Apply through the Minor Irrigation Department (Laghu Sinchai Vibhag) office for the block or district in Baghpat. Their portal is minorirrigationup.gov.in.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Landholding is larger than the small and marginal limit
- A working boring already exists on the plot
- Land record is outdated or not in the applicant's name
