Free accident cover of up to ₹5 lakh if a farmer dies, with smaller amounts for disability
Accident insurance for farmers that the Uttar Pradesh government pays for, so it costs the family nothing. If a farmer dies in an accident the family can get up to ₹5 lakh. If the accident causes partial or permanent disability, a smaller amount is paid.
Who can apply
- Farmers of Uttar Pradesh
- The death or disability must be caused by an accident
- The claim is made by the family in case of death
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card of the farmer and of the claimant
- Land papers (khatauni)
- Death certificate, or the disability certificate
- Police report or post-mortem report for the accident
- Bank passbook of the claimant
How to apply
The claim is filed at the tehsil office in Baghpat, or through the district administration. Carry the accident papers, the land record and the bank passbook.

Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Claim filed too late after the accident
- Land record does not show the person as a farmer
- Accident papers such as the police or post-mortem report are missing
