₹51,000 towards a daughter's marriage for families below the poverty line

The Uttar Pradesh government gives ₹51,000 to help a family below the poverty line with the cost of a daughter's marriage. The money is paid into the family's bank account. It is applied for around the time of the marriage, so keep the wedding date and documents ready.

Who can apply

  • Family is below the poverty line as per the state's own record
  • Family lives in Uttar Pradesh
  • Marriage is of a daughter of the family
  • Bride is of legal marriageable age

What to take with you

  • Aadhaar card of the applicant and the bride
  • Income certificate and BPL or ration card
  • Age proof of the bride
  • Marriage invitation card or proof of the marriage date
  • Bank passbook of the applicant
  • Caste certificate, where the category-wise route applies

Apply online at shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in under the department that matches your category, and submit the printed application with documents to the block or district office.

Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:

  • Family income is above the below-poverty-line limit
  • Bride's age proof does not establish legal marriageable age
  • Application was submitted outside the window allowed around the marriage date
  • Bank account details did not match the Aadhaar record, so the transfer failed
