UP Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Shehri)
Interest subsidy of up to roughly ₹2.67 lakh plus construction assistance for poor families in towns
This is the Uttar Pradesh urban housing scheme for poor families living in towns such as Chhaprauli and Baraut. It gives an interest subsidy of up to roughly ₹2.67 lakh on a housing loan, and also assistance towards the cost of construction. The aim is that a family renting or living in a weak structure in town can own a pucca house.
Who can apply
- Family living in an urban local body area of Uttar Pradesh
- Poor or low-income family as defined by the scheme
- Family does not already own a pucca house
- Has a bank account and Aadhaar
Who cannot apply
- Families that already own a pucca house
- Families that have already received housing assistance from another government scheme
What to take with you
- Aadhaar cards of all family members
- Income certificate
- Residence proof of the town
- Bank passbook
- Land or plot papers, where the house is to be built
How to apply
Apply through the Nagar Panchayat or Nagar Palika office, or the District Urban Development Authority in Baghpat. Applications for urban housing assistance are processed alongside the national urban housing portal at pmay-urban.gov.in.

- Applicant lives in a rural area, where the gramin scheme applies instead
- Income certificate shows income above the limit for the scheme
- Family already recorded as owning a pucca house
