Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin)
Roughly ₹1.20 to 1.30 lakh to build a pucca house, paid in instalments
This scheme gives rural families money to build a proper pucca house instead of a kutcha one. The assistance is roughly ₹1.20 to 1.30 lakh and comes in instalments as the construction moves ahead, so each instalment is released after the earlier stage of the house is verified.
Who can apply
- Rural household living in a kutcha house or without a house of its own
- Household name appears in the scheme's eligible list for the village
- Has a bank account linked to Aadhaar
- Owns or has access to a plot of land to build on
Who cannot apply
- Households that already own a pucca house
- Households that have already received housing assistance from a government scheme
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card
- Bank passbook
- Job card, where the household holds one
- Land ownership papers for the plot
- Photograph of the existing house
How to apply
Check your household's name and status at pmayg.nic.in, and apply through the Gram Panchayat or the Block Development Office in Chhaprauli.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Household name not in the eligible list drawn up for the village
- Aadhaar and bank account details do not match, so the instalment does not reach
- No clear land papers for the plot where the house is to be built
- Household already recorded as having received housing help earlier
