₹1,000 a month disability pension, free assistive devices, and free travel on UP Roadways buses
This Uttar Pradesh scheme supports persons with disability in three ways. There is a pension of ₹1,000 a month paid into the bank account, there are assistive devices such as a tricycle, wheelchair or hearing aid given free, and there is free travel on UP Roadways buses. You need a valid disability certificate for all three.
Who can apply
- Resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Holds a valid disability certificate
- Household income within the limit set for the pension
- Has a bank account linked with Aadhaar
Who cannot apply
- Persons without a valid disability certificate from the authorised medical board

- Income certificate
- Bank passbook
- Passport size photograph
- Residence proof
How to apply
Apply under the disability pension section at sspy-up.gov.in, or through the District Divyangjan Empowerment Officer at the collectorate in Baghpat, who also handles assistive devices and the bus travel pass.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Disability certificate has expired or shows a percentage below the required level
- Certificate issued by a doctor rather than the authorised medical board
- Aadhaar not linked to the bank account, so the pension transfer fails
- Income certificate expired
