Uttar Pradesh Government Woman

Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana (UP)

₹51,000 per couple for a group marriage, part of it sent straight to the bride's own bank account

The Uttar Pradesh government pays for group marriage ceremonies where several couples are married on the same day at one venue. For each couple the state spends ₹51,000. A part of that money goes directly into the bride's own bank account, and the rest covers household items and the cost of the ceremony itself.

Who can apply

  • Bride must be from a poor or low-income family in Uttar Pradesh
  • Bride must be of legal marriage age
  • Bride should have her own bank account, since money is sent by direct transfer
  • The marriage must take place at an official group marriage ceremony organised by the government

Who cannot apply

  • Marriages performed privately, outside an official group ceremony arranged by the department

What to take with you

  • Aadhaar card of the bride and the groom
  • Age proof of the bride and the groom
  • Income certificate
  • Caste certificate, where it applies
  • Bank passbook of the bride
  • Residence proof

How to apply

Apply through the Block Development Office, the Nagar Panchayat, or the District Social Welfare Office in Baghpat, which announce the dates of upcoming group marriage ceremonies. The state portal for the scheme is cmsvy.upsdc.gov.in.

Rejected or still waiting? Check these first

Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:

  • Bride's name on the Aadhaar card does not match the name on her bank account
  • Age proof does not clearly show the bride is of legal marriage age
  • Application submitted after the registration date for that ceremony had closed

Still stuck after checking all of these? Tell us what happened and we will help you work out which office to approach.
